AI agents for fintech companies in Mumbai

We build AI agents that take on repetitive work in fintech teams in Mumbai, from support and document checks to lead follow-up. People approve what matters, and the savings are measured.

The problem

A fintech company sells trust. Your buyers in Mumbai include banks, insurers, asset managers and promoter-led groups. In regulated sectors, compliance, security and approval steps often shape what they can consider before price or speed comes up. A payments company can give a strong first demo to a mid-size merchant and then watch the deal sit in security and compliance review.

The same pressure falls inside your own company. Support staff answer onboarding questions by hand. Operations staff check documents against your rules. Growth teams see sign-ups that never become funded accounts. An AI agent can take much of this work, but only if the job is clear, the agent can reach the right data, and a person decides what needs approval. Many pilots stay small because the team cannot show a regulator, a partner bank or an enterprise buyer how a decision was made, checked and logged.

Fintech is also several businesses. A lender, a payments firm and a vendor selling software to banks have different buyers and different rules, so an agent built for one does not carry over unchanged.

What you get

  • Support: sort tickets and draft replies on onboarding and payment questions, with a person approving everything that goes out to customers.
  • Operations: check documents and orders against your rules, and flag the cases that need a person to decide.
  • Finance: match invoices, chase payments and prepare reports that your finance team would otherwise build by hand each month.
  • Sales and marketing: research and qualify leads, follow up and keep the CRM current, so a small sales team spends its time on live deals.
  • Engineering and IT: sort incidents and answer questions from your own documentation, so engineers are pulled away from product work less often.
  • Your own documents: answers drawn from your policies and data, with access rights kept in place so people see only what they should.

What it looks like

A payments company selling to mid-size merchants

A small sales team gave good demos, but deals stalled when merchants sent long security and compliance questionnaires. We defined the job first: draft first answers from the company's own documentation, and have a person approve each one before it is sent. The compliance lead now reviews drafts instead of writing every reply, and the sales team follows up while the buyer is still engaged.

A B2B fintech selling software to banks

The company wanted agents in support and in checks on back-office documents, but its bank customers asked how the agents made decisions. We set out what each agent may do, what a person must approve, and what gets logged. The agents ran with approvals switched on, and the company could show a cautious enterprise buyer what an agent did and why.

The rules that apply in Mumbai

The Reserve Bank of India covers banks, payments, lending and other regulated financial entities. The Securities and Exchange Board of India covers stock markets, brokers, mutual funds and investment advisers. Which one applies depends on what your company does. Identity checks and anti-money-laundering controls apply to most products that hold, move or lend money, so an agent near those steps needs clear limits and a record. The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 shape how customer data is stored and used, and CERT-In handles incident reporting. TRAI rules apply if you market by call or text. Partner banks often pass their own requirements down to you. We design with your compliance lead and leave the legal reading to your advisers.

How we work with companies in Mumbai

Burraq Quantum is based in Mumbai and Dubai, so companies in Mumbai work with us in their own city. We usually start with the people who decide and the people who can block: the founder or senior leader, the compliance lead and the chief technology officer. Data handling and security review come up early. Scope and terms are agreed in each engagement.

Questions

Can a regulated fintech in Mumbai use AI agents without creating problems for compliance?

Yes, when the compliance lead is part of the design from the start. We agree what the agent may do, what a person must approve and what gets logged. Whether a use is acceptable for your licence is a question for your compliance team and advisers.

Where should a fintech company start with AI agents?

Start with one job that is repetitive, follows clear rules and can be measured today. First-line support and document checks are common choices. We define the starting point the agent must beat, and if the job does not need an agent, we say so.

Have you built AI agents for financial firms?

Our closest example is insurance, not fintech in India. The founder led work on AI agents for a health insurer at an enterprise AI platform startup in 2025, before Burraq Quantum was formed. It found $3.2M a year in undetected waste at a mid-size US healthcare payer. He also architected three patent-pending AI governance methods.
