AI strategy and governance
Decide where AI will pay off across your business, build the case for each use, and set the rules that keep it safe. Your teams move faster because they know what is allowed.
Who it is for: Leadership teams of growing businesses, especially in fintech and other regulated sectors.

- Typical length
- Four to eight weeks

The problem
Your people are already using AI, often with tools nobody approved and data nobody checked. Meanwhile many AI pilots stall before they show a return.
The model is rarely the problem. The problem is the choice of work, the data AI can reach and nobody owning the result. And regulators, auditors and enterprise customers now ask how your AI is controlled.
What you get
- An inventory of the AI already in use across your teams, approved or not
- A short list of uses worth funding, each with its business case and how its return will be measured
- A build, buy or partner decision for each tool
- An AI policy staff can follow: which tools, which data, and what a person must approve
- A risk register and approval rules, mapped to the rules that apply to you
- Named owners: who runs each system, who approves changes and who answers for it
- A rollout plan for the first uses
How it works
Inventory
What AI is in use today, by whom and with which data.
Prioritise
The uses worth funding, with the business case for each.
Govern
The policy, risk register, approval rules and owners, mapped to your regulators, data laws and customer contracts.
Roll out
The first uses go live with your team, and the rules are tested on real work.
Is it right for you?
Right for you if
- Teams use AI and there are no clear rules yet
- You have to decide where AI spend goes next
- A regulator, auditor or enterprise customer has asked how you control AI
- You sell to banks or other regulated buyers, or into the EU
Not the right fit if
- You need a legal opinion: we work with your lawyers, and we are not a law firm
- You only want a policy template

Proof
AI governance is where our team's work has been recognised. The governance platform our team designed won the GEC Award 2025 for AI Governance and Compliance, and three of its methods are patent pending. Built on that platform, the first review by its fraud, waste and abuse agents found $3.2M a year in waste that a health insurer's existing tool had rated fully compliant.

Led by our team before Burraq Quantum was formed.
How we work
- Strategy and governance together: one piece of work, so the rules fit the uses instead of slowing them down.
- Rules the systems enforce: controls applied on every request, and a record an auditor can read, not just a document.
- Mapped to what binds you: data protection law, your sector's regulator and your customer contracts, not every framework on the market.
- One team to daily use: the same team can take the first uses into daily work.

Questions
Asked about this service
What is AI governance?
The rules, controls and records that decide what an AI system may do, who approves it and how its decisions can be checked. Good governance is built into the systems themselves, so you can show it to a regulator instead of only describing it in a policy.
Do we need an AI policy if staff only use ChatGPT or Copilot?
Yes. That is where most risk starts: client or personal data pasted into a tool, and decisions made with no record. A short policy says which tools are approved, which data may go into them and what a person must check.
Which AI rules apply to us?
That depends on where you operate, where you sell and your sector. In the UAE, financial firms follow the Central Bank's AI guidance. In Saudi Arabia, the Personal Data Protection Law and SDAIA's AI principles apply. In India, the DPDP Act and, for regulated lenders, the RBI's FREE-AI framework. If you sell into Europe, the EU AI Act too. We map them with your legal team.
Do we need ISO/IEC 42001 certification?
Not to start. It is voluntary, and it helps most when enterprise customers ask for it in procurement. We can set up your governance to align with it, so certifying later is a small step.
Will governance slow our teams down?
Not when it is designed with the uses. Clear rules let teams act without asking each time. Only the high-stakes steps need a person's approval.
How is AI governance different from data governance?
Data governance decides who may use which data. AI governance adds what an AI system may do with it, who approves its actions and how its decisions can be checked later.
How long does it take?
Four to eight weeks, depending on how many teams and uses are involved.
